Board game - Bound for Death
Bound for Death is a dark fantasy board game where convicted criminals are given one last chance to escape execution — by surviving a deadly gauntlet of dungeon trials. Balancing between survival and madness, players must complete dangerous tasks, battle nightmarish creatures, and make morally difficult decisions: collaborate with others or betray them. In the dungeon, death means execution. Will you take the risk?

The scope of work included:
Creating four original player characters with distinct backstories and visual identities;
Designing the full set of game cards — including character, item, and event cards;
Producing an atmospheric 3D motion video trailer to present the game’s tone, setting, and mechanics.
The task required building a cohesive visual language that captures the game’s themes of despair, inner conflict, and eldritch horror — all while keeping it engaging for players.

I developed four distinct characters to serve as the player avatars — each telling a different story of guilt, redemption, or greed:

Treasure Hunter — driven by greed, he’s spent his life chasing riches. Now trapped in the dungeon, he sees this as his biggest treasure hunt yet.

Fallen Knight — a disgraced warrior burdened by a tragic mistake. Stripped of his honor, he now seeks redemption by taking on the most perilous quests.

Highwayman — once a feared bandit who preyed on caravans. Captured and sentenced to the dungeon, he now uses his cunning to survive.

Heretic Priestess — a former priestess who lost her faith after tragedy. She believes the gods have abandoned the world and uses her divine powers with a dangerous edge.
Through character design, I aimed to visually convey not only their roles but their inner conflicts — allowing players to connect emotionally and instantly grasp the high-stakes narrative of Bound for Death.

I also designed the full set of game cards — from core elements to unique artifacts, events, and monsters. Each type of card was crafted with distinct structure and visual identity to enhance immersion into the dark and gritty world of Bound for Death.

One of the most challenging, yet creatively rewarding parts of the project was producing a 3D motion video to present the game. This was my first experience working in that format, and it pushed me to think not only as a designer but as a visual storyteller.
My goal was to capture the game’s tone through motion, lighting, sound, and composition — creating an intense atmosphere that draws viewers into the game's world from the very first seconds.
